Celtic Discovery is all about celebrating Celtic heritage through the joy and spirit of music and dance.
The Celtic Discovery Performing Troupe is a talented group of young musicians and Irish dancers from New Brunswick who are "raising the bar" in Celtic entertainment throughout the Maritimes.
August 1st to 8th 2008 the troupe will be travelling to Cape Breton to perform and study. This year's version consists of 12 musicians, 6 of whom are Irish dancers and 2 of whom are Highland dancers. The group's fiddles are backed up by keyboard and bodhran.
The troupe is now performing in the Fredericton / Oromocto area - come and check it out!

THE COUNTDOWN BEGINS... - Tuesday, June 10, 2008
Hi there. Just to let you know that we only have THREE rehearsals left until the trip!
These are:
June 14, 4:00 p.m.
June 28, 4:00 p.m.
July 12, 4:00 p.m.
All rehearsals will be held in the dance studio at the Arts Centre.
As these are our last three rehearsals, please make every effort to ensure you are there for the duration. We still have a few things we need to work on as a group, so it's important that all CDPT members be there. Each rehearsal will last an hour to an hour and a half.

The plans are coming together for the Troupe's trip to Cape Breton this summer. Plan to check out one of these performances!
Performance Date - Aug 1 @ Chestico Days Summer Festival July 28 to August 3
It is a week-long summer festival with events such as golf tournament, horse race, road race, dances, concerts, ceilidhs, BBQ, beer gardens, boat and street parades, boat rides, games, fireworks, stepdancing showcase, Celtic music, stepdancing workshops. Children's parade, teen dances.
Performance Date - Aug 2 @ Bras d'or Lake Inn , St Peters
Performance Date - Aug 4 @ Strathspey Place, Mabou
Performance Date - Aug 7 @ Lobster Kettle, Louisbourg
